We will dedicate ourselves to the Continuous Improvement Process for all of our products, services and processes utilizing most effective technologies such as Innovate Commercial Offerings, Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma, and Corrective Action/Preventive Action Databases.
Environmental Policy
At Dow, protecting the people and the environment will be part of everything we do and every decision we make. Each employee has a responsibility in ensuring that our products and operations meet applicable government or Dow standards, whichever is more stringent.
Our goal is to eliminate all injuries, prevent adverse environmental and health impacts, reduce wastes and emissions and promote resource conservation at every stage of the life cycle of our products. We will report our progress and be responsive to the public.

What is Six Sigma?
In addition to a number of specific quality programs, Dow Automotive, as part of The Dow Chemical Company, embraces Six Sigma as its methodology and culture in pursuit of business excellence. Six Sigma is a quality discipline that focuses on product and service excellence to create a culture that demands perfection - on target, every time. It's a strategy designed to dramatically upgrade a company's performance on critical business metrics. Six Sigma drives out variation and enables data-based decision making. At its foundation, Six Sigma is a systematic statistical method that breaks down a customer's requirements (processes and products) into tasks or steps, pinpoints the quality problems, reduces the number of defects, and controls the process to sustain improvements. Dow's unique implementation of Six Sigma focuses on customer loyalty and leveraging. Six Sigma coordinates with and builds on other quality initiatives, with the goal of creating an environment in which anything less than Six Sigma quality is unacceptable.
While participating fully in the Six Sigma programs of Dow, Dow Automotive has over 50 trained local champions, in addition to Black Belts and Green Belts who work to attain Six Sigma quality within our business. Dow Automotive has been involved in Six Sigma since 1999 and has expanded our experience base to include both the base MAIC methodology and Design for Six Sigma.
