BETABRACE 85074 is a highly expandable composite used for reinforcing sheet metal and can be applied in the OEM paint shop or body shop.
Composed of a high temperature curing tacky polymer, woven glass fabric and release paper, BETABRACE 85074 reinforcing composite provides excellent adhesion to primed metal and also adheres to oil galvanized and cold rolled steel without a primer.
Product Benefits:
-
Ultra-high expansion formula lowers part cost while providing equal or higher performance
-
Enables use of downgauged body panels for weight reduction by reinforcing weak zones
-
Programmable cutting process eliminates tooling and enables fast initial response and quick iterative design changes
-
Excellent initial adhesion and green strength
-
Provides exceptional stiffness when compared to bare steel
-
Adheres to contoured surfaces
Application: BETABRACE 85074 reinforcing composite can be used for reinforcement and vibration abatement of sheet metal. BETABRACE composites have been used to reinforce shock towers, fenders, hoods, side mirrors, door handles, deck lids, floorpans, tailgates, roofs, package shelves, sail panels, wheel wells, doors and liftgates.
Application Methods: BETABRACE 85074 is applied manually. The release paper is removed and the patch is placed over the desired area. Hand pressure is then applied over the entire surface area of patch.
