A low-MDI formulation of BETAFOAM* acoustical foam from Dow Automotive is among the innovative technologies applied to the all-new 2004 Dodge Durango. BETAFOAM is injected into the A, B and C pillars and rockers to create an effective acoustical seal that helps manage road and chassis noise, vibration and harshness (NVH).

In addition to improving vehicle acoustics, Dow Automotive also wanted to provide a solution that allowed for a more efficient assembly operation. To that end, Dow Automotive developed a low-MDI BETAFOAM formulation that is applied robotically in the paint shop in a standard ventilation environment.
