Dow Automotive will exhibit its capabilities in structural bonding for the automotive industry at this year's SBI show which takes place in Essen, Germany from September 12th until 17th. Dow Automotive, a leading supplier of bonding expertise, will feature BETAMATE* structural adhesives, which provide significant advantages over alternative assembly methods, and BETAFOAM* structural polyurethane foams which improve stiffness and impact resistance when injected into vehicle cavities.

Bonding structural parts with Dow Automotive's innovative adhesives improves the body's torsional stiffness, crashworthiness and durability. Additionally, it enables weight savings and parts integration, reduces mechanical or thermal fitting points and seals gaps to guard against corrosion

Adhesive bonded parts show a continuous bond-line which reduces load peaks in case of a crash and enhance the torsional stiffness of the body up to 18 %. In addition, the adhesives bonded body in white dissipates and absorbs more energy in case of a crash.
