Dow Automotive will join other members of the Detroit Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) to spread holiday cheer to needy Michigan children. The company is donating enough high density polyethylene to make 30,000 red plastic buses. The toys will be colored, molded, decorated and delivered by other local organizations.
Area contributors joining Dow Automotive in the 2006 SPE toy drive include American Plastic Toys (molding), Logistical Solutions (transportation) and Maple Press (labels). The United Way of Michigan and the Lions Club will handle distribution.
SPE is active in educating, promoting, recognizing, and communicating technical accomplishments for all phases of plastics and plastic-based composite developments in the global transportation industry. The toy donation program is celebrating its sixth year.
