Dow Automotive, a major technology and solutions provider to the global auto industry, supported Audi Sport as they took a second straight diesel victory at the 75th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.  Audi has now scored back-to-back wins in both the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring with their Audi R10 TDI diesel powered racer. The R10 TDI utilizes some of the most advanced diesel engineering in the world, including the latest generation Dow Automotive diesel particulate filter (DPF) system. 

Dow Automotive’s DPF technology is one of the primary elements of the Audi R10 TDI powertrain. Dow Automotive DPFs are specifically designed to meet specific Audi performance requirements and are lightweight, compact and contribute to lower overall vehicle mass. The DPF produces very low back pressure, which provides optimum engine power, torque performance and fuel efficiency while dramatically reducing particulate emissions. These benefits are validated in the extreme conditions generated by endurance racing, such as extremely high operating temperatures, mass flow and ramp rates.

The winning Audi team was co-driven by Marco Werner, Emanuele Pirro, and Frank Biela.  This was the fifth win at Le Mans for both Biela and Pirro, and the third victory for Werner. All of their wins came with Audi since the 2000 race.
