Dow Automotive has expanded its NVH damping capabilities by introducing SPECFLEX™ semi-flexible polyurethane foam systems that spray heavy layers. The SPECFLEX polyurethane system offers easy processing and exact mass distribution, resulting in significant weight reduction. Improved flexibility enables SPECFLEX to flow into complex structures and differential thickness to provide NVH enhancements exactly where needed.

Further benefits include a monomaterial solution for both heavy layer and backfoaming with good adhesion properties as well as low tooling costs and waste reduction. The SPECFLEX system (PU spray heavy layer + PU backfoaming) from Dow Automotive is already commercially available on a large volume vehicle in Europe

In addition to SPECFLEX systems, Dow Automotive also offers polyurethane flexible systems for carpet and other interior trims backfoaming that offer a fast remoulding time, low density and to low-emission leveraging VORANOL™ VORACTIV™ proprietary polyol technology.
